Use your own VPN configuration
Import a tunnel, grant Android consent and connect only when needed.
Options depend on your plan, profile, installed build and provider. Understand access. Screenshots use fictional demonstration data; a preview layout can differ slightly from a public build.
#Prepare a configuration
Use a configuration supplied by your own VPN service. M3ufy does not create a VPN subscription. Private keys, server addresses and credentials must not be published.
#Import and connect
Open Settings → Services & connections → VPN.
- Select Configuration file and choose the file from Downloads, USB or a supported drive.
- If the configuration requires Sign-in details, enter the VPN-specific username and password.
- For OpenVPN configurations, install OpenVPN for Android when prompted.
- Choose Connect and approve Android’s VPN consent prompt. Confirm the connection status.
WireGuard and OpenVPN do not use identical backends. The available behaviour depends on the installed build and companion app.
#Startup, browser import and removal
Connect when the app starts is optional. Add one from a browser directs you to m3ufy.com/link so a configuration can be supplied without remote typing. Disconnect stops the tunnel; Remove the configuration also forgets its local configuration. Neither cancels your VPN account.
#Local editing and playback
Some VPNs block local-network traffic, so the phone/PC editor may become unreachable. Use your VPN’s LAN allowance where available. A VPN is not a universal cure for buffering; test both connection paths with the same source before changing many player settings.
