Sync with the website

Bring website edits into the app without restarting, and distinguish sync from refresh.

Before you start

Options depend on your plan, profile, installed build and provider. Understand access. Screenshots use fictional demonstration data; a preview layout can differ slightly from a public build.

#Link the correct device and account

Use My Account at m3ufy.com/link. A website playlist must be associated with the account/device you are actually using. The device key shown in Settings → Account & app → About identifies that installation. Never post its security key publicly.

  1. Sign in to My Account in your browser.
  2. Check My Devices and the device key against the TV. Add the device if necessary using the requested identifiers.
  3. Add or edit the playlist for that device, then save on the website.
  4. On the TV, open Settings → Library & content → Playlist → Sync with cloud.

#What the sync button does

Sync with cloud gets website playlist configuration and uploads changes made in the app. It does not force a full provider playlist or EPG refresh. Automatic sync can take time; the button makes a deliberate check practical.

  1. Wait for the sync status to finish.
  2. Open My Playlists and verify the changed entry, including which source is selected.
  3. If credentials changed, check that source’s Edit playlist screen rather than just a cached channel title.
  4. Use Refresh playlist & guide when fresh provider content is also needed.
Keep in mind

Do not repeatedly press refresh while an import is running. Configuration, imported channels, guide data and watch history are different types of data.

Playlist settings: My Playlists, Add Playlist, Sync with cloud and the local phone/PC editor are separate actions. Actual app screen · fictional demonstration content, not included with M3ufy. Layout may vary by version and device.

#If an edit does not appear

Confirm the account, device key and target playlist first. Check connectivity and complete any browser security check. Try one sync and record its result. If the old credentials remain, send an in-app diagnostic report immediately after reproducing the issue, with the approximate time and whether the change was made in the app or on the website. Never include passwords in a public report.

#What cloud sync does not guarantee

Only information successfully synced to the correct account can be recovered from that account. Local files, local-only settings and unsynced changes may not be recoverable after an uninstall or data reset. An email-linked account is not a guarantee that every byte on the TV has been backed up.
