Record, schedule and download
Save Live TV or supported films, manage schedules and choose safe storage.
Options depend on your plan, profile, installed build and provider. Understand access. Screenshots use fictional demonstration data; a preview layout can differ slightly from a public build.
#Choose storage before recording
Open Recordings → Storage, also reachable from Settings → Library & content → Recordings.
- Choose Save location and a writable device or removable destination.
- Use Choose a folder if Android needs you to grant access to a specific folder.
- Use Network drive for a supported SMB share and test it before saving.
- Choose what happens When full: Stop recording is safer if existing files must be preserved. Delete oldest can remove recordings.
Do not remove a drive while it is recording. Free-space estimates may be unavailable for some destinations. File access requires the permissions Android actually grants.
#Record now or book a programme
Use the channel/programme action menu to start a recording or book a future event.
- Open the channel or guide programme actions and choose the recording action offered.
- Review the event, date, start time and end time or duration.
- Choose frequency: Once, Daily or Weekly when offered. Save the booking.
- Open Recordings → Scheduled to check it. Edit an existing booking to adjust times, or cancel it if no longer needed.
The box must be available, connected and allowed to run the recording. Scheduled work is not guaranteed while powered off or force-stopped. Simultaneous streams depend on your provider and hardware.
#Downloads, television and files
The saved-media page separates downloaded films, recorded television, files on a drive, scheduled work and storage. Select a completed item to play. A running item offers Stop; a booked item can be cancelled. A film’s Download action appears on its detail page when supported. Let it finish before relying on offline playback.
#Delete a listing or its file
Hold the saved item to open deletion choices. Delete file removes the actual media; Remove from list only removes the app’s entry and can leave the file on the drive. Read the confirmation carefully. Cancelling a booking is different from deleting a completed recording.
#Connect a network drive
Enter the host name or local IP, share name, optional folder, username and password in Network drive. Run Test connection, then Save. Use an account with write permission only where needed. Forget removes the saved connection, not a general-purpose deletion of the server’s files. Never expose SMB to the public internet just to use it from the TV.
